Crossing these limitations in orthodontic movements may cause periodontal diseases, root resorption, pulpitis, and the like. Osteogenic orthodontics that is accelerated by the periodontium is one method for overcoming these restrictions and negative effects. Over the last ten years, a large body of research has been conducted on the well-known and efficient technique of alveolar decortication-assisted orthodontic treatment. Corticotomy combined with guided bone regeneration can increase the range of orthodontic treatment by allowing predictable and faster movements beyond traditional methods. Piezo surgery is an innovative procedure that can be used for corticotomy. Piezo surgery has selective cutting (no soft tissue damage) and less bleeding during the surgical procedure.
